Welcome to the First Digi Scrap Connect Blog Train. This blog train is comprised of 24 fabulous designers who have been participating in the Design
Factor Challenge the last 5 weeks. For our 5th challenge, we were required to make an element pack using CU items. Since 1/2 of the items for all the kits
would be coming from the Scrap Matters great challenge freebies, we were worried that we were going to have flowers, ribbons and strings coming out our ears with

Last Week!! Waaaaaaaaaaaah!! Week 5

My gosh time has gone past soooooooo fast. I cannot believe this is the last week of the designer contest at Ivy Scraps. I think in my opinion this has been one of the best contests I have had the complete honour to be in. The people there are soo fantastic and soo nice and all of the other contestants are just wonderful too. I have had a complete blast and I wish it would never end.
LOL..LOL..LOL..Anyhows now onto this week- Week 5. I sooo love heritage kits and I have done a few before. However Jan stipulated in this weeks kit that we needed to make a grosgrain ribbon. Huh??? beg your pardon??? I kinda knew what she meant but I still had to google it to find out for sure that I was not barking up the wrong tree. Anyhows turned out I was on the right track. It turned out pretty good if I may say so myself so I wanted to share it with you all. Hence this weeks freebie is Commercial Use. I made this ribbon from a photo I took and some really cool texture. I am not perfect at making CU products at all but I hope that you get somekind of use out of what I have in the freebie zip file. I have only used png files as they are friendly to all programs. Please make sure you read the CU terms of use and the other notepad file for some really cool ideas and inspiration for making a rockin shiny satin ribbon for your kits.

I Have Been Sooo Sick!! Week 4 is Here!!

Hello guys!! I have not been around much because I have been soooo sick! I am fine now cept for a niggling sore throat and the occasional dry cough. But thems the breaks. However I did almost not do a Week 4 entry. I did have most of it done though and was able to finish it with a few days grace from the lovely judges at the Ivy Scraps designer contest. Thanks again guys for allowing me to play along with the others. I soo appreciate your understanding and thoughtfulness. Anyways this weeks challenge was to create a kit entirely made of doodles. Wow what a challenge. LOL..LOL Gosh wow was this soo much fun to play with and create. I have never really made any doodles and I found it heaps of fun to do. The only thing not made by me in this kit is the colour swatch that Digides Designs created for us for the week 4 challenge. Waaaaaaaaaa HOOOOO!! Week 3

Hummph I am not impressed!! After the PC went in for some TLC she came back looking just like new until I turned her on. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! no internet!! Also to make matters worse one of my 2 monitors blew the power box or something. Well needless to say I am down to 1 monitor and not very happy. Oh well I am too spoilt that is the problem!! Good things come to those who wait I say!! LOL..LOL..LOL Well I tell you what!! There is some amazingly talented ladies taking part in this contest at Ivy Scraps and this week we get to learn all about them and their favourite things. We had to pick one colour and do a monotone kit with shades made from that one colour. I chose green. Gosh I just love green. LOL. So I went with my fave colour at the moment. I tend to change my mind every now and then. I love my kitties so there had to be a kitty or two here, I love handbags as well hence the handbag. The word art is tooo true I certainly do have paw prints on my heart. Oh yes and I had to do something a little different and put the kitties through the paint engine. I sooo hope you like my little piece of heart. Have fun with this funky little scrapping pleasure. Please consider voting for me too when the time comes at Ivy Scraps. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!! Sad News!!

Hi there folks!! I have some sad news. My PC has gone to the doctors. It has contracted a virus and I cannot offer you any special freebies this week. Although I had started some very cool clusters for you. I cannot finish them because my PC is at the IT techs place getting fixed. Hopefully all should be right by monday. Anyhows I am here at least to let you know what is going on. My faithful laptop is still running well and I can design on it if I need to. Just that resources are more limited on it is all. Here is the kit I have completed for week 2 of the Ivy Scraps contest. This kit is made with no Commercial Use products at all only what my programs offer. Wooo Hooo Commercial Use Freebies!!

Hey there peoples this week at Stuff to Scrap we had to design paper overlays. Now you know me I like to do things differently. So I thought about how I go about making my papers and how I can share this process with all of you. I came up with Paper Stackables. I have already done the hard work for you and all you have to do is mix and match, change colours and have fun. These are designed for everybody to use to create their own awesome papers. All of the files are 300 dpi and 12x12 most in png format with the odd few as jpg (these are the base papers which you add colour or a gradient too). This does not mean that these overlays can't be used with others in your stash. In fact go ahead and use them whichever way you see fit. I love being creative and encourage you to experiment with Paper Stackables !! Please be aware that Paper Stackables 1 has a cut out edge to it. Paper Stackables 3 is a little freebie I made for you. The flowers which star in this page have been painted and the white removed so that texture and the writing can show through. In each of the Paper Stackable packs there is a page example. So if you want to cheat you can use it!! LOL..LOL..LOL.. But the big idea here is to be creative and to have heaps of fun playing with the overlays. I soo hope you enjoy these. Creative Busy Hands

Still Standing and it is Week 3

Wow gosh golleeee!! I cannot believe I am still here and standing amongst such talented ladies as those in the Stuff To Scrap Designer Darling Contest. Especially since I made the most stupid mistakes this week. First I forgot to put in my swatch (which I did last week too DUH!!) and now I have discovered that I did not put my TOU in! EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKK!! Now this is the first time I have done so. I mean the thing was looking at me all completed in the working file but not in the zipped file. Gosh I feel soo stupid!! Anyhows I have uploaded it to media fire and you can grab the linkie to it in the forums at Stuff to Scrap here-

This week we had some very cool photos as our inspiration and this is where it led me. Oh where to start!! I saw those lovely pics of peaches and right away I thought of doing a kit with a peach theme. But then I saw how much the children enjoyed the peaches and I thought back to my child hood too to the book called James and the Giant Peach. I had sooo much fun reading the Roald Dahl books and to this day I watch the movies based on her books. I took inspiration from her fantasy novels and made my own fantasy kit with Outlaw by Designs lovely poser fairy dressed in peach blossoms with her pet bee's for company. I loved the way the
giant peach was used like a kinda balloon in the story so I thought I would make my own peach balloon. I so hope that you have as much fun using and playing with this kit as I had making it for you. It has brought many happy memories of reading and fantasising about fun characters and worlds of make believe.

Week Two of Stuff to Scrap Designer Contest

WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!!! Finally I have finished my kit for this week. It took soooooo loooooooooong to make. Doing everything by scratch really slows the whole process down but boy I loved the challenge. I used shapes that came with PSP 12 and 8 as well as photos I took and also a bunch of scans I made. Throw them all in one big heap and there you have Oriental Touch. This little kit was so much fun to make. I hope that you have fun scrapping with it. I promise that no one else's commercial use product has been harmed or used in any manner in conjunction with the creation of this kit. LOL..LOL..LOL..LOL I thought a little spice and interest in the orient might be interesting in a kit. I just love all things oriental and find the culture and art fascinating. Thank you for your interest in my work.

I have on offer for you today a Commercial Use Template called Cutie Panda and you will find her in my Oriental Touch Mini. She is sooooo cute and people have asked about her so I thought I would share. Also later on in the week there is going to be some odds and bodds I did not use in the original kit. Glamouricious is Next!!

Oh gosh I had so much fun doing these pages. When I looked at the theme and colours and Addies description when she mentioned tagger; I thought posers. So I went looking for some cool stuff and ended up at Rendorosity where I found these way cool backgrounds by Folkvangar and of course one of my fave tube designers Out Law by Designs. I then play with the scenes and the tubes and
came up with these two little beauties. With the word glamour I tend to think magic too. Like putting someone under a glamour. Of course you can't get much more glamourous than those lovely poser dolls. Anyhows I hope you like my creations. Please see my TOU for proper credits. Thanks for looking. Week Two Natures Glory

Oh gosh I had some trouble with this one. I thought the colours were amazing when I first looked at them but when I began to work with them I came to a great big stop. It was not easy to do what I wanted with the colours I had so I had to do a lot of working around them to get the desired outcomes. I think I succeeded after several failed attempts to do something with resembles Natures Glory!! I use flowers and other critters that I liked and put them altogether in this kit. I think you will like the bird house I made and its one and only occupant. LOL..LOL..LOL..I sat down and made some amazing quick pages for all of you as a thank you for your continued support. The name of the contest is I can't believe you scrapped that Photo!, so that means, we don't want your cute, pretty, or awesome photos. We want those photos that you have hidden in the back of your photo box or on your computer in a folder called NO NO Photos. We want your worst photo, that blackmail photo you have been holding onto for ages. It's time to dig out all the funny things that your family and friends have done and scrap them and maybe some not so funny moments and lets not forget all the things our animals have done that they shouldn't have done.

In order to be eligible for the prizes your layouts must meet our criteria, meaning if you do one layout that layout must be made using K-Joi products and so on. see above

There is a category in the store that has $1.00 and $2.00 kits. There you will find some really great mini kits that you can use to make these layouts, provided you don't already own K-Joi Studio kits. This includes our monthly collaboration kits, newsletter freebies, and blog freebies.

Each layout must be an original work created completely in a merged digital format.

Each submitted layout must link the digital products used and must include all Designers names whose products you have used in your layout.

Layouts must be uploaded to the K-Joi Studios Gallery by April 17th to qualify for judging.

Contest will run from March 17th till April 17th. You must have all your layouts in the Gallery folder by April 17th in order to be eligible for the prizes. On April 17th judging will begin.

All layouts must be 12' by 12", "BUT" file size for uploading "SHOULD" be 500 by 500, 72 DPI

I wanted to do something different in the male line of kits.
I have been noticing the trend towards emo, gothe and also
a little punk in the teenagers around me and I decided to
do something with that kind of theme, hence the skulls
and grunge. I know that they are different types of what they
call scenes hence the name of the kit What's My Scene?
Being a teenager can mean going through all these different
trends and chosing which one suits you best. I am 37 years
old and I once had a friend with the coolest mohawk you
have ever seen. So these types of trends go in and out of
fashion. Makes me feel kinda old too!!

There are 6 awesome papers and 12 elements as well as a full
alpha!!

Hopefully all problems are fixed now!! Let me know if you find anymore!!

Angels and Memories

I am a little late getting this up this week. I have been ultra busy and still have not got done what I wanted to get done!! Sheesh where does the time go. Anyhow onto the exciting stuff. I have just completed Week 2 in the Designs in Digital designer contest. Wow did I have a ball with this!! I loved the colours so much and they reminded me of clouds, softness and angels. I did some research and discovered there were not many kits that you could use to remember loved ones who have passed away. But as you can see from my pages that is not the only use for this kit. I did dress my little piper girl as an angel and she looks just lovely too. This week for the Designs in Digital Designer contest we had to pick just one colour and mix it with black and white and a little green. I thought this was an amazing challenge and Rouge is the result. I just love the funky papers and the unusual elements in this!! They work soo well to make a page. I know I have made several which I will show you. There is 6 papers in this wonderful kit and 12 elements some of which I recoloured once for variety. Unfortunately I have not made it any further in the contest. I did extremely well and averaged in the top 6 for every week and the downloads were fantastic and I thought the comments were very encouraging too. I learnt heaps and heaps. One important thing I did learn above all else is that being different is not necessarily a good thing. But however I believe when it comes to being creative there is no real right or wrong but what counts is what you like not what other people like. Oh I am soooo excited to introduce to you my newest creation. It is called Are We There Yet??? This kit is made for the second round of the Designer
Darling Contest at Stuff to Scrap. The colours here are very
bright and I really was stuck to start with??? But then some
how I got the inspiration of a car trip and I went from there.
I tried to make the colours not sooo bright and the filters on
the painted papers dampen them quite a bit. Which is better on
the eyes all round. I also wanted to make something different
and creative so I made my own word art and the elements I made
from it by tearing paper and scanning it. The title of course
comes from every road trip with the kids "ARE WE THERE YET??"
I so hope you like this little kit. I think it is quite charming!!
You can go and download the full kit which has 14 elements and 5 papers
from Stuff to Scrap here. Oh and just for looking I have made you some

Wow have you seen the collaboration at Digital Paper Hearts???? I must say when they gave me the swatch to work with I was well lets say kinda shocked!! LOL..LOL..LOL..It was soo bright to say the least but when I started working with it and the theme I went for was retro then it all fell neatly into place. All of the other designers did such a wonderful job. I am sooo proud of it!! There is 66 fun retro style elements and 28 lovely papers to play with. All this for just $5.00. Wow I say!! Hello all, May is lyme disease awareness month and because this disease has such a huge impact on my life i decided this year i was gonna do whatever i could to bring a little bit of attention to it. I have been sick 3 and a half years, diagnosed with lyme 3 years ago and i have spent the last 3 years trying to find any treatment that will work to squash this bug out of me. I had never heard of lyme before i was told i had it and i didnt understand at first how i even got it because i am not an outdoors kinda girl and i never remember a tick or a rash. I never would have guessed one tiny little tick could cause me so many problems. i'm only 24 and i have to take 19 different medications a day and go 5 days a week to the hospital to receive iv antibiotics. I had to drop out of college before finishing my degree and i have had to sit back and watch as all my friends graduated,got married, bought houses and had children and it sucks! There is so little known about lyme and right now prevention is the only sure-fire way of staying healthy.I have somehow managed to talk some of the amazing designers at kjoistudios to help me in a blog hop for the whole month of may. each week a new outdoors themed kit will be posted for free with a fact about the disease. Here is a little fact for you about Lyme Disease- Dont forget about your pets, dogs and cats are being infected at an alarming rate. Lyme in animals can cause horribly painful problems and our animals cant tell us when it hurts. Get your pet vaccinated yearly and use some kind of flea and tick repellent. some of the symptoms in pets are: loss of appetite, lethargy, arthritic movement, fever, excessive sleep and sudden unexplainedlameness. Treating your pet also keeps you safe from ticks your pets may bring inside if they aren't protected.

Just thought i would blog today as i have been a little behind of late....things are soo busy with the lead up to christmas it is unreal...soo much to do..i am busy making christmas cakes and rumballs and cards and calendars and such....also looking for work and writing resumes and cover letters...lol..lol..lol.lol..oh the occasional movie and christmas party and dinner with friends..al and i had our first anniversary yesterday and one of my girlfriends asked us over for tea which i accepted..al is taking me out on wednesday night to celebrate..i only hope my back has a good night that night...cause it has been stopping me short and i have to leave parties early..all depends on the chair i get to sit in mainly...sigh..but that is life...the digital scrapping designing is not very fruitful but heaps of fun to do with challenges and chats and collabs...thought i might share with you some pages i did with my latest creation i am in the middle of doing for our January Collab at K-Joi Studios...way cool stuff.. so here is a sneak peak..thanks for looking...cheers liz

Hi guys it is me with this months challenge...i have made this kit you see..i made it considering i love those layouts with white space and i just love grunge too and oh some colour as well...i can just see this kit with a clean and simple but stylish type of layout....thus the white based backgrounds and the elements with colour, texture or simply black...here is the preview of the kit..you get 10 uniquely textured backgrounds to feed your creativity and an element set that has grungy painted frames, messy stitching, painted overlays, ribbon clusters in bright colours with stitching and buttons, an envelope frame cluster, a run of staples, a peg hanging from a piece of string, a rainbow trim and some grungy sticky tape...now the name of the game is just that...post your name suggestions for this kit in this thread here http://kjoistudios.com/messages/index.php/topic,5925.msg49224.html#new and if i pick your entry by the end of the month the kit is yours for free...so if ya want to win this fabo trendy kit give it a go!!!!
